Edit comment markups Tender groups Deviations

Comment markups can be edited and you can fix mistakes or add missing information as long as the comment status has not changed, no message was added, or no new version of the file was uploaded.

All changes are saved in the comment's activity log, and you can view previous versions of the markup.

Tender groups offer a new way to manage tenders by allowing you to group different tenders together and share the same organization and files across them.

This helps you manage multiple tenders and keeps your organization and tender files consistent.

Create deviations directly in test plans and link them to specific test points when work does not meet quality standards. Subcontractors can report deviations and request approval from the construction manager.

All deviations follow approval templates and workflows for consistent handling and documentation.

Deviations in test plans

This feature will first be available in the upcoming mobile release, expected in mid-March.

You can now create deviations in test plans to document work that does not meet agreed quality standards and link it to a specific test point.

Subcontractors can report deviations when work differs from the plan and needs approval from the construction manager.

Deviations are created from approval templates and processed through an approval workflow to ensure consistent handling and documentation.

You can read more about deviations in this article: Deviations in Test plans

Translate task subjects and descriptions

Available in Field Pro and InfraField Pro projects.

Translations are now available for tasks on desktop. You can easily translate the subject, description, and messages to your preferred language. This feature makes it easier for multilingual teams to coordinate and work together on-site.

Please note that the translations are AI-generated and should be used with discretion. Dalux is not responsible for any translation errors.

Inspection plan task association

You can use association overview to quickly assign task templates to different inspection plan works. You can use this to easily add one or more task templates to your inspection plan workflows or to get an overview of which templates are associated with which workflow.

Compare versions of test plan and inspection plan templates

You can now compare versions of test and inspection plan templates. You can compare the newest versions to any previous version to pinpoint changes made to the templates.

Share SiteWalks to the Owners Portal

Recorded SiteWalks can be shared directly to the Owners Portal. From the overview menu, the entire SiteWalk can be shared at once. It is also possible to open a SiteWalk and select a specific starting point. This point will be shown to anyone who opens the SiteWalk from the Owners Portal.

SiteWalk recording time increased

SiteWalk now supports 8 minutes of continuous recording, so you can record more of your construction site in one go. You can still easily combine multiple recordings into one walk to ensure you capture everything you need.

SiteWalk preview shows recording date and time

To make it clearer when a SiteWalk was recorded, the preview on drawings now only shows the time of recording for the SiteWalk.

Associate existing tasks to checklists

You can now link existing tasks to checklist points. This is useful if you already have related tasks and want to connect them with your checklists. You can only add tasks you have permission to access. Tasks can be associated either from within a checklist or directly from a task.

Daily log workflows shown in work packages

Daily log workflows are now also visible from work packages. This makes it easier to see the review flow and roles for daily logs, and which work packages are using daily logs.

Approve multiple daily logs for a single day

If you need to approve several daily logs, you can select a date from the calendar to review and approve multiple entries at once.

Selecting a date shows all logs for that day. You can quickly scan and approve the ones that are ready. Deselect any logs that should not be approved.

Status for daily log entries awaiting first or second approval

The daily log overview now shows if a daily log entry is pending first or second approval. This makes it more obvious as a first or second reviewer, which logs need your attention.

Grouped row summations in Quantities

When grouping rows in Quantities to summation is now shown in the row name. This gives a quick overview over the count of elements in each row.

AI Assistant

Technical information

AI Assistant will be gradually rolled out as part of a phased release. Availability will expand over time.

AI Assistant helps you quickly find and understand information in project documents by providing intelligent answers and summaries, with clear references to the source in the file. You can use pre-defined actions or ask the AI Assistant to locate specific information in a multi-page document.

For more information you can read this article: AI Assistant

Edit comment markups

Comment markups can be edited as long as no major actions have been taken. You can fix mistakes or add missing information as long as the comment status has not changed, no message was added, or no new version of the file was uploaded. You can update or correct markups, add more details, or change the markup type.

All changes are saved in the comment's activity log, and you can view previous versions of the markup.

Scroll to selected comment in the comment list

When selecting a comment markup on a drawing, the comment list will now automatically scroll to and highlight the comment as well. This is especially useful if there are many comments on the same file.

Set character type and character length requirements for metadata

When setting up text metadata, you can now specify the required character type (any type or numbers only) and the character length. You can choose a range of 1–10 or a fixed length of 1–10 characters. These options make it easier to set specific requirements that align with your metadata rules.

Better handling of file flows with newer versions

Previously, if a new version was shared or published while older versions were still in active flows, those flows became stranded and required manual termination by an admin. With this update, stranded flows are automatically addressed:

  • When completing a file flow with earlier versions still active, users are prompted to end those flows. The process cannot finish until confirmed.
  • The same rule applies when sharing or publishing a file manually. Any ongoing flows for the same or earlier versions must be ended first.

This update prevents file flows from getting stuck when newer versions are shared or published.

Although this expands the ability to terminate file flows beyond administrators, users can only terminate flows when their action would otherwise result in a stuck file. Users are not granted general permission to terminate file flows at will.

Performance enhancements for large multi-page documents

Large PDF documents have become significantly faster to open and navigate in.

Use previous markups from stamps or comments in Submittals

In our last desktop release, we introduced the ability to reuse previous markups with the Stamps feature when publishing files. This feature is now supported in submittals as well. This means that when you publish a file directly from a submittal, you can duplicate and reuse previous markups for the new stamp.

File tabs in submittals

File tabs are now available in submittals, allowing you to open and view multiple files at once. This makes it easier to switch between files and review comments or remarks.

Add a message when approving submittals

When a submittal is approved, a message can be added to provide additional information. This message is logged in the submission history.

Export submittal PDF reports

Submittals can now also be exported as a PDF report. The export contains the submittal details, overview, and the full history. If needed, you can also include remarks and comments.

InfraField

Cross sections in Quantities

Use cross sections in quantities to draw layers and automatically get volume calculations along your alignments from start to end station. Drawing layers is quick and easy and snap to your cross section.

Use custom coordinate systems

If your project data uses a custom coordinate system, you can enter your own PROJ string and use it for projections. Setup is straightforward, and project data is aligned automatically.

See alignment data added to the map from Box

Alignment files can be previewed in Box after they have been added to the map and processed. This makes it possible to open and review the alignment data directly from a Box folder without using the map view.

Locations

Cut line shows in 2D when in split view

When you use split view to work with a cut or box cut, the cut lines will now show up on the 2D drawing. This makes it easier to see your cuts in context and accurately place cut lines on grid lines or other guides in your drawing.

This feature is available in both Locations and Design.

Chain point-to-point measurements together

You can now connect point-to-point measurements. This helps you take more detailed measurements on drawings, showing both the length of each segment and the total overall length.

You can use this in Locations and Design, as well as in drawings within Box and Tender.

Toggle between 3D and 2D cuts

A cut in 3D can now be toggled to a 2D cut and back. This is helpful when working with gridlines in your model as you can quickly toggle 2D and do precise measurements.

Selected 3D objects shown on drawing in split mode

When using the split mode in Locations, selected 3D objects are now also highlighted on the 2D drawing.

Design

Point cloud support in Design

Point clouds are now also supported in Design. This makes it possible to compare point cloud data with models that have not been published to Locations yet.

Get started with Model validation disciplines

To help you get started with model validation, you can now select from a list of disciplines that are automatically generated for you.

Property checks shown in their own section

Property checks in model validations are now shown in their own section, making it clearer which checks are collisions or clearances and which checks are for metadata properties.

You can now also run all property checks separately, checking only metadata rather than running model checks as well. This can be helpful for large, complex models when you only need to check metadata properties.

Create property rules with 'text contains'

Property rules now also support the 'Contains' condition for text elements, giving you more options when setting up your property rules for property checks.

Use object names from collision as comment title

When creating a new comment from a collision or clearance check, you can easily add the names of the check and object to the comment title. This makes it easier and quicker to give relevant titles.

Highlighted row and column headers

When you hover over a check in the model validation matrix, the row and column headers are highlighted. This makes it easier to see which disciplines or 3D groups are being checked.

Tender

Tender groups

We are introducing a new way to set up and manage tenders.

Tenders are now organized into groups where files can be synced and shared with individual tenders. This makes it easier to have multiple tenders for the same project, such as by dividing different trades across different tenders.

Copying a tender is done at the individual tender level while the files remain at the group level. This makes duplicating tenders much faster and ensures that files stay the same and are updated across all your tenders.

Company profile

Set character type and character length requirements for metadata

The new Box feature, which allows you to set character type and length requirements for metadata, is also available in the company profile when setting up project standards. Setting these requirements in the project standard ensures consistent data across multiple projects.

Switch between dates and duration in the activity dashboard

In the activity dashboard, you can choose to view data for specific dates or see it normalized over the entire project duration. We have also added legends to the axes to help make the data easier to understand.

Improved project map screen and filtering

The project map in the company profile has been improved to be full screen and with responsive filtering, automatically fitting the view to your selected filters.

Please note that the map button has moved.

Open and edit projects directly from the map

You can quickly open your project or update its permissions and status right from the map view.

Activate file areas in project standards

You can now toggle whether to activate the Share files and Published files file areas in project standards.

Deprecation notices

Removing support for 'PDF checklists'

To streamline our platform, reduce complexity, and support more robust solutions moving forward, creating checklist templates based on PDF documents has been deprecated.

  • You will not be able to create new checklists or edit the PDF data field in Dalux
  • End users will not be able to create new checklists from PDF templates
  • Existing checklists will remain available in read-only mode.
  • No data will be deleted
