Field

SiteWalk coverage map

SiteWalks can now be shown as a coverage map, allowing you to see which parts of the building have been covered by a SiteWalk image and which parts have not. Coverage is color-coded, making it easy to see if any areas have not been covered by a recent SiteWalk.

You can view your SiteWalk coverage for the past 3 months.

This makes it easier to get an overview of your documentation and plan a route to ensure the entire site is covered and up to date.

Upload SiteWalks in the background

You can now enable background uploads for SiteWalks. This will send completed SiteWalk recordings to your outbox, allowing you to minimize the Dalux app while the upload continues.

Improved offline mode for Dalux mobile app

The offline for the Dalux mobile app has been improved with an updated user interface making it quick and easy to filter and download just the content you need.

Camera and photo mode improvements

Taking pictures in the Dalux mobile app has been made easier. When you take photos, you can now see all the pictures you've taken in a sequence and quickly add annotations. The button sizes have been increased and moved to the bottom of the screen, making it more convenient to use the app with one hand.

Required picture when reporting safety issues ready

You can now toggle on required photos when reporting safety observation ready. An icon will appear next to Take photo, and if you try to report the safety issue ready without adding a photo, you will be reminded that a photo is required.

Box

Manual hyperlinks

Manual hyperlinks let you create links to drawings and documents, making it easier for project participants to move between related files and documents. This feature builds on our automatic hyperlinks from metadata or plugin uploads, giving you the option to customize hyperlinks to suit your specific needs.

After you create a hyperlink, it will be accessible on both mobile and desktop, in Box and in Locations.

InfraField

Add data from checklists to GIS objects with Field to GIS

The new Field-to-GIS feature lets you add checklist data directly from on-site registrations to the GIS object they were created on. This makes it easy for on-site teams to automatically update GIS object information with relevant data right from the Dalux mobile app.

You can find more information about this feature in this article: Synchronize checklist data with GIS properties

Latitude and longitude Exif metadata preserved in photos

Images that you take while using the Dalux app or uploaded into Dalux, will now have an individual geotag from the position from the picture was taken. This means if you download a picture from the desktop, the location data will still be available

Locations

Rotate auto drawings from the BIM model

Automatic drawings generated from your BIM model levels can now be aligned and rotated. This makes it easier for everyone involved in the project, whether on desktop or mobile, to work with automatic drawings since they can be rotated to match construction drawings, no matter the orientation of your model.

Model gridlines on mobile

Model gridlines are now also visible while doing cuts on mobile.

Deprecation notice

Limiting number of linked tasks

A limit of 40 tasks that can be linked to a single task has been set. This update will only apply to new projects. You will receive a notice if you are getting close to the maximum limit. If needed, you can unlink previous linked tasks to link new ones.

Removed SiteWalk support for Theta X

As previously stated, the Ricoh Theta X camera is no longer supported in the Dalux app for SiteWalk. We recommend switching to one of our supported cameras listed here: Recommended equipment for SiteWalk
