Measure while doing cuts

Now, when you make a cut in 3D on mobile, you can also take measurements. This adds more functionality to the BIM Viewer and makes it simpler to get measurements in specific areas where the cut gives you the view you need.

Zoom perpendicular to a laser measure

When creating a 2D laser measurement, you can now use a shortcut to quickly switch to a perpendicular view and zoom in on your measurement. A new cut slider lets you create and adjust a cut plane and instantly return to the laser plane if you move away from it.

This gives measurements more context and makes it easier to return to your measurement after navigating freely.

Public safety observations with QR codes

Available in projects with Field Pro

We are introducing public safety observations. This new feature allows you to create a QR code that anyone can scan, even if they are not part of the project. When someone scans the QR code, they can submit a public safety observation.

You can place the QR code on your safety board or construction site fence, so people like delivery drivers or passersby can report safety observations.

The submitter needs to include a subject and an image. Adding a description and contact information is optional.

The safety manager oversees public safety observations and can choose to turn them into safety issues, recognize good practices, or close them if they're not relevant.

Invite users directly on the mobile app

You can now invite new users to a user group directly from the mobile app. To do this, you'll need the appropriate permissions, such as being an administrator or a group admin in custom user groups.

This feature is especially useful for those working on-site with the Dalux mobile app who need to add new users to the project and don't have immediate access to a computer.

Deviations in test plans

Subcontractors can now report deviations in their test plans when their work differs from the plan and needs approval from the construction manager or architect.

Deviations are created from approval templates and processed through an approval workflow to ensure consistent handling and documentation.

You can read more about deviations in this article: Deviations in Test plans

SiteWalk recording time increased

SiteWalk now supports 8 minutes of continuous recording, so you can record more of your construction site in one go. You can still easily combine multiple recordings into one walk to ensure you capture everything you need.

Compare drawings on mobile

Available in projects with Box Pro

Comparing drawings is now part of the mobile app. You can use it to compare different versions of the same drawing right on your mobile device. With multiple drawing revisions, this feature makes it easier to spot changes between versions while on the move.

You can compare drawings from a Box folder or directly in Locations.

GPS Connector

InfraField Pro now supports connecting to an external GPS antenna for precise location coordinates by using the Emlid Reach RX2 and the Dalux mobile app.

You can use a base NTRIP network or set up your own custom networks. Once activated and set up, the on-site team can connect to the Emlid Reach RX2 and synchronize the connection with the Dalux app.

When connected, your precise GPS location is tracked along with the current inaccuracy. The coordinates are saved in registrations, such as tasks and checklists.

You can read more details in this article: GPS Connector

Snap to alignments

When you click on or near an alignment, the point now automatically snaps to it. This helps you select the exact location on the map more easily. From there, you can create a new registration, or open the 3D view or cross section of your model.

Expanded GIS library

The GIS icon library is now available on mobile, allowing custom GIS styling with icons to be visible to on-site teams, helping them quickly recognize GIS points.

General changes

Disable push notifications for tasks

You can now choose to turn off push notifications for tasks either in the app or through your profile settings on desktop. This lets you keep push notifications for Dalux on, while giving you more control over which types of messages you receive.

You can still get push notifications for announcements and other registration types if push notifications are generally active, but deactivated for tasks.
