The deviations feature allows you to document any work that does not meet the agreed quality standards by connecting tasks to specific points in a test plan. Subcontractors can report deviations when work differs from the plan and needs approval from the construction manager.

User rights
Activation and setup for deviations must be done by a project administrator or Field administrator. Test plans must be activated and configured before you can set up deviations. To learn how, read this article: How to set up Test plans

'Deviations'
In the new window, click 'Activate' and deviations will be activated.
If needed you can customize the approval template. You can read more in about customizing approval templates in this article: Approvals.
Click 'Save' when you are done making changes.
Once activated, deviations are available in all test plan workflows, and they will use the approval template you created.
How to set up workflows for deviations
When deviations are activated, your test plan workflows will be extended with a responder role. Project administrators and Field administrators can customize and extend this further, by adding more responder roles.
- Users in the 'Creates' role:
- Can see the test plan
- Can create registrations
- Can create and send Deviations
- User in the 'Responds' roles:
- Can view any assigned deviation
- Can reject, forward, or approve assigned deviation
- Cannot see the test plan or registrations
- Cannot create new deviations
How to use deviations in test plans
When deviations are activated, the contractor can decide whether the work meets the agreed quality standards or if there are issues that require approval from the construction manager.
- No deviation– A standard registration is created. It counts toward the planned extent of the test plan.
-
With deviation – A deviation is created and linked to the inspection point.
- It does not count toward the planned extent until the deviation is approved and closed.
Deviations will appear in the inbox of the responder role. If you have multiple responder role, the deviation will have to move to the end of the workflow before it can be approved and closed.
Once the deviation has been approved, it will be registered as a completed inspection point.
