This article explains how to set up and use the weather feature in Dalux. You can display the weather on the dashboard and include it in checklists or daily logs to record the weather conditions at a specific date and time.
This feature can be useful in checklists for recording accurate weather conditions. It can also be included in daily logs as documentation of weather conditions that hindered work.
How to set up weather
User rights
Activation and setup for weather need to be done by a project administrator.
To use the weather feature on a project, you need to specify the project location. If it has not been set yet, you can do so in:
Settings
Project setup
'Project data'
Add location.
Activate weather
The weather feature needs to be activated on your project first.
To activate weather, go to Settings
Field
Add features
'Weather'
'Activate'.
Once the weather feature is enabled, it can be used as a data field for checklist templates. You can read more in this article: Template data fields for Tasks and Checklists.
Technical information
The weather is determined by the project location, even if you make registrations on the map in a different location.
How to use weather
How to display the weather on the dashboard
You have the option to activate 'Display weather on dashboard'. This feature will show the weather on the dashboard for all project members.
The project location determines the weather displayed on the dashboard. By default, you will see a detailed weather report for the current day. You can switch to a 5-day weather forecast.
Weather is only shown on the Dalux Desktop dashboard, not the Dalux Mobile home screen.
How to customize weather data
You can customize which weather data you wish to show in checklists and daily logs. To do so click on 'Weather data' then toggle which types of weather data you want.
How to use the weather with checklists
When the weather feature is enabled, it can be used as a data field in checklist templates. It is added like any other data field to the checklist. You can read more about how to set up checklists in this article: How to set up Checklists.
When filling out the checklist, you can choose the weather for either the current date and time or a previous date.
How to use the weather with daily logs
You can read more about daily logs in this article: How to set up Daily log.
If the 'Log weather' feature is enabled for daily logs, the weather information for the specified time slots will be automatically included in the daily log. This weather data will be displayed when approving or rejecting the log.
