In this article, we show how to use BIM properties in the different areas of Dalux, such as checklists, tasks, or approvals.
What are BIM properties?
BIM properties are the data used to add information to the elements in BIM models. When a building is uploaded to Dalux, the BIM properties will be uploaded with it, which can be read and displayed by Dalux.
The BIM properties for an element can be viewed by selecting that element, while in the 3D view, and clicking on properties () in the element information window. The properties are grouped in property sets:

Templates
The properties can be used in templates for various features in Dalux. To use it in a template, go to the template of the task/checklist/approval and drag the BIM property field from the left column into the template on the right:
Tips and tricks
When adding a BIM- or zone property field to task-, approval- or checklist templates, available properties will be suggested from a drop-down list.
Important
BIM property fields are updated automatically with data and cannot manually be edited when used for a checklist or task.
The BIM property fields will be filled with the relevant data when an element is chosen as the location of the checklist/task. The data in the fields is determined by the BIM property chosen in the template:
BIM properties as filters
BIM properties can also filter the 3D view of the building according to one or more specific properties. To do so:
Select a BIM element of the building by clicking on it Click on
(properties)
Click the
icon to the right of the property you want to filter by:
You can see what property is being filtered, and remove the filter.
