SharePoint integration

This article will cover how to integrate SharePoint with Dalux Box Pro.

 Technical information

The integration between SharePoint and Dalux Box is not a real-time connection. Instead, it allows for a one-time import of files from SharePoint to Box.

When importing files, it will not overwrite any existing files in Box. If you want to import revised files from SharePoint to Box, you will need to either delete the existing files in Box or import them to a different folder.

How to set up SharePoint integration

You can import sites from SharePoint or specific libraries from sites.

 User rights

Setup and import can only be done by project administrators.

How to activate SharePoint Integration

To activate SharePoint integration with Dalux Box, go to

Settings  Box Add features  'SharePoint integration'  Activate

How to connect SharePoint to Dalux

To connect SharePoint to a Dalux project, go to Settings  Box SharePoint: 'Connect'. In the new window, click 'Connect'.

Note

The connection to SharePoint is not a live connection - meaning that you can upload files from a SharePoint site or library, but files added to these via SharePoint are not automatically added to Dalux.

You will need to login to the appropriate Microsoft account.

A new window will open where you can select which site and library to import from SharePoint. You then have to choose the Dalux Box folder the files from SharePoint are uploaded to.

Note: Selecting 'Upload only content of folder' will only upload the files. If it is not checked a new folder will be created in Box with the same name as the selected folder from SharePoint.

Click 'Next' when done.

When the files and folders have been selected, you have the option to match file properties to Dalux metadata properties. You can either match to default Dalux metadata values or custom metadata.

Click 'Next' when done.

Before the files are uploaded you can preview what files are imported and what location in Dalux Box they will have.

If you are satisfied, click 'Import' and the files will be imported to Dalux.

The files can now be found in the selected Dalux Box. All imports from SharePoint can be seen in the log, by going to Settings  Box SharePoint: 'Log'.
