How to use the Archicad plugin

The Archicad Plugin is made by Dalux and works with Archicad, helping you with upload models and drawings.

This article will show you how to upload models and drawings using the plugin. The plugin does not upload the actual Archicad model file to Dalux instead, it’s processed as a 'daluxbim' file

To learn how to download the plugin, read this article: Dalux Plugins for modelling software

How to upload and update your 3D model and drawing files

User rights

To be able to upload documents from Archicad, you need to be in a user group with permissions to edit buildings and locations on the relevant Dalux project. If you cannot do this, contact your project administrator.

Select project and building

You can access the model upload through File daluxicon_chevron-right.svgDaluxBIM Upload.

Enter your Dalux credentials to log in to your profile.

In the new window, pick the project where you want to upload the files.

Then choose the Dalux building.

If this is your first time uploading this model, select "new file" in the File field. If you've uploaded this model before, just select the file you want to update.

Important!

Make sure that the building where you want to upload your Archicad file already exists on the Dalux project, as you cannot create new buildings via the plugin.

Upload files

In the next window, choose the following:

  • Reference point - the reference point to use for object alignment
  • 3D view for geometry export - the view in Archicad used for model export
  • Zone category - the Archicad zone(s) you want to upload

On the next screen, you can choose which drawings to upload. At the top of the window, you can pick an Archicad property used for disciplines and subdisciplines.

On the next screen, you can:

  • Choose how you want the name formatting to appear in Dalux
  • Pick a Dalux Box folder
  • Select a Dalux status

Select one or more files from the list and decide which Dalux Box folder you want to add the files to.

You can repeat this process to set the file status.

What you choose here depends on how your project is set up. You can not create Dalux Box folders or statuses using the plugin.

On the last screen, you will see a summary of your upload before you confirm it.

When the upload process has completed, your Archicad files are added and processed in Dalux.

Notice

Your model will be uploaded in the Locations module as a daluxbim-file. If the model is linked to Dalux Box, it will be saved there as a daluxbim-file as well.
