This article will show how you can use 360 photos in InfraField to get visual insights into the construction site from anywhere. 360 images allow you to compare captures from different points in time and create registrations directly from the picture.

When working with 360 photos on the map, InfraField allows you to multi-upload photos and place them automatically if they include geoinformation.

How to upload individual photos to Locations
To upload individual 360 images to a specific location, we recommend going to:
Locations
Navigate to the location in the map, in the drawings, or the top view of the area
Click on the photo's location
New
360 photos
This will place your 360 image on this specific location.
You can add multiple versions to the same image by going to:
Locations
Navigate to the photo's location
Click on the photo to open
Edit
Add photo
The uploaded photo will be saved as a new version, allowing you to compare 360 images on the desktop.
Multi-upload photos with geolocation
You can upload multiple photos at once and either place them manually or automatically place them if they contain geo-referencing data. This is done by going to:
InfraField
Capture
360 photos
Upload
After selecting all the photos from your PC, you can add the location of all these photos in the new dialog.
If photos include their geolocation, the 'Location' is filled out automatically. You can still change this before uploading them.
How to view and edit 360 photos on the desktop
You can open 360 photos by going to either
InfraField
Capture
360° Photos
Double-click on a photo to open
or
Locations
Filter for 360 images
Navigate to the location in the map or the drawings
Click on the photo's dot
Select the photo from the list
Viewing mode
When viewing the 360 photo, you can hold and drag your left mouse button to rotate the image and your mouse wheel to zoom in and out.
On the bottom left, you see a mini map, allowing you to see the location on the map or drawing where the photo is placed.
If the photo is placed on the map or in an area, you get a preview of nearby images. This makes it easier to find better angles of certain objects.

Compare lets you compare the open photo with other versions of this image or the 3D model. Read more in the section below.

Edit will bring you to editing mode.
Editing mode
The mini map is also available in editing mode.
You can use the date selector to open a photo at the same location that was taken on a different date.
will hide all the menu items for a full-screen experience.

menu gives you some additional features, like

Add photo: Upload a new version to this photo, such as from a different date.

Blur: Manually blur sensitive parts of the photo.

Rename: Give the photo (and its versions) a new name.

Change location: Select a new location for the photo (and its versions).

Download photo: Download the photo to your local drive.

Delete photo: Delete the selected photo. Other versions of this location will still be available.

Compare, you can compare the image to other versions of this image or the 3D model.
Compare two 360 images
With the Compare feature, you can view 360 images of the same registration side by side. With the date selector, you can compare photos with previous versions to track changes throughout the project.
You will see a preview of the photos that you can compare with.
Use the date selectors to switch between different versions so you can track changes throughout the project timeline.
By default, you can navigate both images individually. Click on the button to lock both images together, so you can move them simultaneously.
Alternatively, you can also use the Compare feature directly from the preview pane. The button appears when you hover your mouse over a thumbnail.
Compare 360 images to BIM
If the photo is placed in a structure, you have the option to compare it to the 3D model.
If the photo is placed on the map or in an area, you have the option to compare it to images that are placed nearby or to a nearby 3D model.
With the compare mode open, click on 3D.
Just like when comparing two 360 photos, the view can be synchronized and locked. In the 3D view you have many of the same options as in Locations, such as creating cuts, measures, and filters.
