This article will show you how to link documents to rooms in Dalux. By attaching a document to a room, you can easily access the document(s) when selecting the room, whether on Dalux desktop or Dalux mobile.
How to attach a document to a room
User rights
Adding documents to rooms can be done by project administrators, project planning managers, and users with either 'Write' or 'Edit' permissions to a given Box folder. The document attached to a room will be visible to anyone with at least 'View' access to the folder the document is located in.
You can add a document to a room from any folder in Box.
Navigate to a folder Open the file
Show metadata
Add relation
'Rooms'
Then select the room(s) you want to add the document to. Multiple rooms can be added. When you have selected the rooms you need, click 'Save'.
Technical information
If you enable the file areas feature in your project, documents that are added to a room will only be visible on the room if the documents have been published.
Open a document attached to a room on desktop
When looking at the rooms in Locations, a
-icon will show if a document has been attached to the room.
When you click on Files, the attached documents will be shown. Please note, when using file areas, documents are only shown in Locations if they have been published.
Open a document attached to a room on mobile
On Dalux mobile, files attached to rooms are accessed the same way as on Dalux desktop.
Go to Locations and choose the room. If there are any documents attached to the room, you will see a
icon, and you can easily open the documents.
