How to use Stamps

This article will show you how to use the Stamps feature in Box Pro.

The Stamps feature makes it easy to add stamps to your drawings when you publish them. The stamp adds a QR code and details about the authorizer, authorization date, and status of the drawing. You can also add markups, which are added to the published drawing.

The QR code can be scanned and will check if the drawing is the latest version, or if there is a new version available in Dalux.

Stamps can be added to drawings when a file is manually authorized or if the drawing is authorized as part of a file flow.

How to use Stamps with manual authorization

User rights

Users with permissions to authorize drawings to published files (such as project planning managers, via their user group, or as part of their file flow role) can place the stamp on a drawing.

Already published files need to republished to add or change stamps and markups.

Drawings can be manually authorized from their respective Box folder or from All files.

Go to BoxFilesLocate the file(s) you want to authorizeMorePublish now.

Tips and tricks

We recommend working on a single drawing at a time to ensure the stamp is placed correctly. When publishing multiple files at the same time, the default placement of the QR code wil be used.

Creating markups and placing the stamp

In the new window, you can create markups and adjust the placement and size of the QR code.

Technical information

Markups and stamps will be permanently embedded in the drawing and can only be removed or changed when a new version is published.

The toolbar at the bottom of the drawing offers a variety of markups that can be added. You can change the color of individual markups by selecting them and clicking Color.

You have the option to reuse markups from the authorization of an earlier file version of the same file or use a comment on this file as a markup.

To do this, click Show and open previous markups. Select a markup on the drawing or from the list and click Duplicate markup. You can still edit the markups before publishing the drawing with the stamp and markup.

Note

Markups from comments will not be added to the drawing; only markups created during the authorization process will be included.

The stamp is placed according to the project setup, but you can move it and scale it as desired. Click on the stamp and adjust the position as needed. If you do not wish to add the stamp, it can be removed by clicking Delete.

Authorizing the drawing

When you are satisfied with your markups and stamp placement, the drawing can be authorized by clicking 'Authorize to published files'. Depending on the project setup, you might also need to select a status for the file. The selected status will be stamped as part of the metadata.

When the file has been published, the markups and stamp have been embedded in the drawing. The drawing can now be printed and distributed.

A dummy QR code is shown in this screenshot. Your project will generate a unique QR code. Scanning the QR code will inform the person if the drawing is the latest published version or if there is a newer version available in Dalux.

How to use Stamps with flow authorization

Stamps and markups can also be created and added when a file goes through a file flow for authorization.

Technical information

Stamps will not be added to drawings if the last step of the file flow has automatic publishing. There needs to be a user or user group responsible for the final publishing and placement of the stamp.

The process is now the same as mentioned above in section Creating markups and placing the stamp.
