| Keep track of your Field tasks with the new dashboard | Object labels in 2D and line weights on auto drawings | Compare versions in Tender and improvements to drawings |
|
A new Field dashboard provides a quick and visual overview of tasks based on work package, task type, and location. Construction managers can use the dashboard to view the status of their subcontractors' tasks. Subcontractors can view the dashboard to keep track of their own ongoing tasks. |
You can now display property labels directly on objects in your drawings. Auto drawings from BIM models automatically apply different line weights based on properties. This improves the readability of the drawings. |
In addition to a redesigned home page, Tender now supports a wider range of features known from Box. You can track version history and compare different versions. You can now measure directly on drawings in Tender. The Tender log has been made project-specific and split into activity and emails. |
Changelog
Field
New dashboard for Field tasks
A new dashboard is available in Field to get an overview of the current situation on the construction site.
It displays all open tasks, organized by type, across work packages and locations, in a timeline.
The dashboard can be used by management to see who is most active on the site right now. You can see which locations has the most tasks, and how the tasks developed over time.
Filtering allows for easy analysis of task types (max. 10 at once) and work packages (max. 30 at once), tracking performance and identifying risks related to overdue tasks. Subcontractors can view the dashboard to keep track of their own ongoing tasks, which can assist them in planning their work.
The dashboard can be found in Field
Home.
Daily log
Second reviewer in daily logs
Daily logs can now have up to two reviewers. When using two reviewers, the second reviewer is responsible for approving and closing the daily log. Adding a second reviewer can be done in the daily log permission settings.
The different flows can be seen by hovering over the -icon.
New design for printed daily logs
The print dialog and prints of daily log has been redesigned. Data is grouped more clearly. You can print submitted, approved, and rejected daily logs.
The status is shown at the top of the printout. The footer is now always at the bottom of the page.
Navigate using the calendar in the daily log dashboard
Easily switch between days, months, or years in the daily log dashboard with the calendar. The height of the calendar view in the dashboard also be changed.
Duplicate latest entry of daily log
When creating a new daily log, you can duplicate information from the latest entry. This speeds up the process if there are few or no changes from the previous entry.
New daily logs automatically set to today's date
New daily logs created from the main or daily log dashboard are automatically set to the current date. This makes it easier for reporters to create daily logs.
Added reporter to the list view for daily logs
Reporters and reviewers are now displayed in the list view for daily report types.
Summation of rows in the daily log dashboard
Daily log types that use integers or decimals can now display a summation in the daily log dashboard and daily log type list views. 'Show row summation' must be enabled for the specific type.
Checklists
Add SiteWalk images or 360 images to checklists
Images from SiteWalks or 360 images can be added to checklists as attachments. When an image is added, a cropped view is saved to the checklist.
Improved UI for hold point checklists
Hold point checklists can now be returned to a previous step from the main toolbar, instead of having to edit the checklist first.
Company info is now also shown in the audit information of the checklists.
Folders when importing templates from company profile
The tree structure has been restored when importing checklist templates from a company. This makes it easier to import multiple checklists from folders at the same time.
Test and inspection plans
Inspection points with checklists no longer show in task creation
If a checklist is attached to an inspection point, it cannot be used when creating tasks. To avoid confusion, the inspection point is no longer displayed in the task creation window.
Notice when changing prefix
A help text has been added to make it clearer what happens when you try to change a prefix in test plans or inspection plans.
Box
Edit multiple values in BIM data files
Properties can be set for multiple objects at once by dragging the value across multiple objects. This makes it faster and easier to use BIM data files when many objects or properties are involved.
Cascading More menus in Box
The More menu in Box is now a cascading menu, grouping file actions for easier access.
Submittals
Approve individual files in submittals
Approvers can now approve/authorize individual files in submittals. This prevents bottlenecks when certain files in a submittal package are ready, but others need to be rejected.
If the submittal is rejected, all approved files are still attached to the submittal.
The review flow needs to have distribution of files activated, such as approved files triggering a file flow or being directly moved to a different file area.
Create comments in submittals before and after review
Review managers and approvers can now create Box comments in submittals before they are sent for review, as well as after the review is complete. This makes it easier to create and assign comments on files in submittals, without having to go to Box. Remarks continue to be used while submittal files are under review.
You can toggle between viewing remarks and viewing comments on the files.
Placeholders are now always enabled
Placeholders are now always enabled in submittals. This speeds up the creation of new submittals. You can still send a submittal without setting specific placeholders, which allows the submitter to upload files without specific file names.
Set review deadlines as informative
When creating review flows for submittals, the deadline can be set as informative rather than mandatory. Informative deadlines are displayed in the submittal, but do not automatically move the submittal to the next step in the process.
Send files from multiple folders to review
Files from different folders in Box can be sent for review at the same time.
Control your notifications from submittals
You can now control your submittal notifications settings in My settings Email notifications.
See metadata for submitted files
You can now view and modify metadata for submitted files before they are submitted.
Design
List views when comparing models
When comparing models in Design a list view is now displayed. You can use this list to create filters, making it much easier to see changes made to the model. The list view will also show if properties or geometry has been added, changed or removed.
Copy link to view in Design and desktop app
You can now use CTRL+V to quickly return to a copied view when using links to views (CTRL+L) in Locations or
Design.
Links to views in the desktop app can also be shared with a browser. When opened, they launch in the browser with an option to open the desktop application.
Locations
Show properties on objects
The View objects feature in 2D has been enhanced to include labels directly on the objects. You can display labels based on your selected properties. For example, you can easily set up a view that shows you the width or material of all the walls in a building.
Compare point clouds to 3D model
We are introducing a new feature to compare your point clouds to your 3D model. When comparing, you can set a custom threshold and get a quick and visual comparison of your model and the as-built point cloud data. This is only available in the desktop application and with Field or InfraField Pro.
Angle measurement in 2D cuts
Angle measurement is now displayed when measuring with the point to point tool in 2D cuts.
Line weights on auto drawings
Automatic drawings from BIM models now have differentiated line weights. This improves the readability of drawings by highlighting and toning different elements.
Keyboard shortcut (M) for point to point measures
You can now open the point to point measurement tool by pressing M on your keyboard in 2D or 3D. You can see all the keyboard shortcuts by clicking on your profile name Keyboard shortcuts.
Updated Locations menu
The Locations menu has been updated to show bigger previews as well as tabs for areas and structures in InfraField.
No building menu in projects with only one building
The building menu will not appear in Locations if your projects have only one building and do not use the map.
InfraField
Orthophotos
Orthophotos can now be added to InfraField projects and viewed on the map. Uploaded GeoTIFF images are automatically placed on the map.
Multiple versions can easily be compared directly on the map. This is a great way to compare and track progress if you do consistent orthophotos.
If your orthophotos do not have a GPS location, you can manually place them on the map. Currently supported formats are: .tif .tiff .pdf
Automatically place 360 images with GPS data
360 images with geotag data will have their GPS location set automatically upon upload. Manual location setting is also available if needed. You can now also upload multiple 360 images at the same time.
Alignment position data in task and checklists
When using alignments on the map, tasks and checklists in InfraField now show the position of the registration in relation to alignments.
The alignment position is a perpendicular projection from the task creation point. Registrations to the right are with positive numbers, while those to the left are with negative numbers.
Updated UI for map selection
The map layer selection interface has been updated. It is now easier to use when you have many map layers because the map layers are arranged in a grid view.
Tender
Improvements to drawings in Tender
Technical information
Please note, that these improvements are only applied to new files uploaded to a Tender - not for existing files or new versions added to existing files.
Compare drawings, documents, and models in Tender
Our Box Pro compare function is now in Tender, enabling you to easily compare drawings, documents and models to see version changes. You can do so, by opening a drawing or document and clicking Compare versions.
Zoom, rotate, measure on drawings in Tender
We have improved the drawings in Tender to more closely match the drawings in Box. You can now zoom, rotate, and measure. This makes it easier to navigate and quickly get the dimensions you need.
Set scale and file type for drawings in Tender
With the new measurement feature on drawings in Tender, the Tender responsible can set a permanent scale of drawing in the metadata. If a scale is not set by the Tender responsible, bidders can set a temporary scale when they want to do measurements. The file type must be Drawing, which can be changed in the metadata.
Preview drawings in the tender material folders
It is now easier to see what files are drawings (indicated by a -icon in the list view). You can hover over the drawing file type icon to get a preview of the drawing. This makes it easier to find the exact drawing you are looking for.
Redesign for the home screen in Tender
The Home screen for bidders in Tender has been redesigned for a clearer and faster overview. Shortcuts for submitting bids and Q&A have been added. The status of a bid is also more clearly shown.
Tender log moved to individual Tenders
Please note that the Tender log placement has moved from
Home to individual tenders.
For Tender administrators, the Tender log is now specific to individual tenders and can be accessed once a tender is opened. It will only show information for the selected tender.
Tender log split to activities and emails
The Tender log is now split between activities and emails. This makes it easier to get an overview of either activities or what emails were sent to whom.
Version history for files in Tender
Version history has been added to files in Tender. You can now view and download all versions of files directly from the Tender material folders.
Expanded Tender responsible permissions for Tenders with a company profile
The Tender responsible no longer needs a company profile role to import standards like tender requirements, bidders, and folder structures from the company profile. This allows you to have an external Tender responsible without having to invite them to your company profile.
Warning when trying to remove a Tender responsible from the project
To prevent accidental removal of a tender responsible, a warning will now appear when attempting to remove the user from the project. They must first be removed from the tender before they can be removed from the entire project in the Contacts menu.
Updated email templates sent from tenders
Email templates have been redesigned to make the information clearer. Subjects contain more information, making it easier to search and find emails. Question and answer email notifications now include the answer and a preview of any attachments.
