'Field library'
In the Field library, you can create and manage templates for the different registration types in Dalux Field. This article does not cover the creation of the specific registration types, as these are covered in separate articles in the Help Center.
When creating checklist templates, you can use folders to organize them in the company profile. You need at least one folder before you can create checklist templates. Checklist templates can be added to projects or project standards.
Checklist templates
When creating checklist templates, you can use folders to organize them in the company profile. You need at least one folder before you can create checklist templates. Checklists can be created by:
- Create new - creates a new template using the same method as in a Dalux Field project. You can read more about this here: How to set up Checklists.
- Import from project - It is possible to import existing checklists from other projects in the company
- Create from PDF - A checklist can be generated from valid PDF documents
Technical information
When you import a checklist to your company profile's library, Dalux will check for any duplicate titles or prefixes. You can then choose whether to overwrite the existing checklist or create a copy.
Selecting a checklist from the overview will allow you to:
-
Edit - Edit the checklist (this will update the version number). When editing a checklist, the template can be locked so that it cannot be edited on projects (
Edit
'Settings'
'Lock template')
- Delete - Delete one or more checklist(s) from the company profile (this does not delete them on projects if it has been added)
- Move - Move one or more checklist(s) to a different folder within the company profile
- Versions on projects - See which version of the checklist is used on different projects and update templates on projects (see below)
- Duplicate - Create a duplicate of the checklist that can then be edited
Versions on projects
This feature allows you to manage checklist template versions used across projects and update any that are outdated.
You must be a Project Administrator on the selected projects to push new versions.
The projects must have the same template version imported from the company profile.
To update a checklist template, Select a project
Update template on projects, then select the template you want to update on the project(s).
Note: You can select multiple projects using CTRL or SHIFT, but only one checklist can be updated at a time.
You will be presented with a list of all properties in the current template.
The columns display the property type, their content in the library (values from the company profile), and the project properties(values from the project).
If there is a discrepancy, the values in the library will overwrite those in the project.
Finally, the Changes column indicates which updates will take place after the import.
Changes will only affect open and new checklists using this template; closed ones will not be affected unless they are reopened.
Deleted properties:
If a property is marked for deletion, you have the following options:
- Keep data: The property is retained, effectively ignoring the change.
- Delete data: The property and its content are removed, and cannot be recovered on all new and open checklists.
WARNING
Data deletion will be applied to all selected projects once you click Import.
This action cannot be undone.
Merge property:
Each property row has a unique ID.
If you duplicate one by mistake and accidentally delete the original, it will be marked for deletion while the duplicate is treated as newly created. In this case, Merge can be used to retain the project data by merging the duplicate with the original.
Click the merge icon, then select a newly created field of the same type.
The properties will be merged into a single row, and any differences will be listed under Changes:
Hold point checklist templates
When creating hold point checklist templates, you can use folders to organize them in the company profile. You need at least one folder before you can create a hold point checklist template. Hold point checklist templates can be added to projects or project standards.
- Create new - creates a new template using the same method as in a Dalux Field project. You can read more about this here: Hold point checklists
- Import from project - It is possible to import existing checklists from other projects in the company
-
Edit - Edit the hold point checklist (this will update the version number).
- Versions on projects - See which version of the checklist is used on different projects and update templates on projects
- Duplicate - Create a duplicate of the checklist that can then be edited
Note: A hold point checklist must be activated before it can be added to a project or a project standard. Once it has been added to a project or project standard, it will need to be removed from projects before it can be deactivated. It can however be edited.
Tasks templates
In task templates, you can create and manage a collection of task types used on projects or project standards.

You can read more about custom report templates in this article: Custom report templates.
Approval templates
In approval templates, you can create and manage a collection of approval templates that can be used on projects or project standards.

- Import from project - It is possible to import existing approvals from other projects in the company
-

Test and inspection plans
When creating test plans and inspection plans, you can use folders to organize them in the company profile. You need at least one folder before you can create test plans or inspection plans.
Test- and inspection plans can be created by:
- Create new test plan - create a new test plan using the same method as in a Dalux Field project. You can read more about this here: How to set up Test plans
- Create new inspection plan - create a new inspection plan using the same method as in a Dalux Field project. You can read more about this here: How to set up Inspection plans
- Import from project - It is possible to import existing test plans or inspection plans from other projects in the company
Selecting a test- or inspection plan from the overview will allow you to:
- Edit - Edit the test plan or inspection plan (this will update the version number).
- Delete - Delete one or more test plans or inspection plans from the company profile (this does not delete them on projects if it has been added)
- Move - Move one or more test plan or inspection plans to a different folder within the company profile
Rules for library copying
In the 'Rules for library copying' area, you can control whether daily log types, checklist templates or task templates are allowed to be copied between projects. This is turned on by default but can be disabled here.
- 'Allow for checklists' toggles both checklists and hold point checklists.
- 'Allow for tasks' toggles for both tasks and approvals.
- 'Allow for daily log types' toggles for daily log types
When turned on a 'Copy from other project' button will appear for project or Field administrators on projects. If you do not want this to be an option, turn off library copying in the company profile.
Task reminder templates
You can create task reminder templates in the company profile, and later import them to different projects. You can learn about creating task reminder templates in this article: Task reminder templates and contracts
Quick subjects
Quick subjects can be created in the company profile and will be available on projects using the associated trades for work packages.
To create quick subjects, you must first define trades. This is done in the 'Trades'.
Quick subjects can be used across projects to:
- Speed up task creation - as you do not need to type in the subject manually
- Help standardize naming across projects - by using the same pre-defined quick subjects
When adding quick subjects, you must select a trade. Multiple quick subjects can be added at the same time. Each line will create a quick subject. You can expand the window by clicking the -icon.
When done click 'Add'.
All quick subjects will appear in the list. They are available as task subjects when the responsible person for the task is in a work package with a trade associated with it.
Daily log types
Daily log types can be defined at the company level, allowing them to be imported or automatically created when included in a project standard.
They can be created manually or imported from an existing project.
Daily log types are created, edited, and deleted in the same manner as on a project.
Read this article to learn how: How to set up Daily log.
Safety
Similarly, to the Field libraries, you can use the safety library in the company profile to create:
- Safety categories - that can be used in safety inspections
- Safety observation template
- Safety inspection template
- Safety issue template
You cannot create multiple safety templates, so it is best to create a template that will work across all your project types. Using the same template across projects makes it easier to use the analytics and dashboards to create a safety overview across your projects.
Creating the templates in the company profile lets you import them to projects. It is also the company profile templates that are imported to new projects.
You can read more about setting up safety templates in this article: How to set up Safety.
