In this article, we will go over how to use the dashboards in Dalux FM instances, and you will learn how to create custom dashboards suited to your purposes.
The dashboard is the first page you encounter when opening a Dalux FM instance. The dashboard(s) are used to display information about the instance and will dynamically reflect changes made.
Using the dashboard allows you to gather general information from the instance about assets, work orders, and tickets without having to delve into each of the modules to do so.
Navigate and use the dashboard
The main dashboard is available in the instance and is already set up. It displays information about all FM modules. You can, however, create your own custom dashboards, tailored to the specific needs of teams or individual users.
Create custom dashboards
User rights
Only Dalux FM administrators can create custom dashboards. However, all users invited to the FM instance will be able to see the created dashboards.
To create custom dashboards, go to Dashboard

Dashboard data
From this new window, you choose what data should be the basis of the dashboard and what layout it should have.
Technical information
Important: The dashboard data cannot be changed once the dashboard has been created. The layout, however, can be customized at all times.
You need to choose whether the new dashboard should pull data from one of the following three:
- Assets

- Work orders
Layout template
The layout template determines the starting point for your dashboard creation and can be arranged as you see fit.
After selecting your data and template, you can set up the dashboard. Rename the dashboard by clicking on its title.
Visualize your data
To add data to an element, click Select chart, which will open a window where you can choose a visualization style from a selection of Graphs, Time lines, and Other charts, such as list views or key metrics.
When a chart has been chosen, you can further customize it by clicking the -icon in the top right of the element:
Depending on the chosen chart type, you can change what data is visualized and finely control how it is displayed.

You can also resize and move the elements around to make room for more or arrange it in a better way. To move it hover your mouse over the element and then hold left-click down and drag it to the position you want to move it to.
To resize it, move your mouse to either the bottom right corner, bottom edge, or the right edge:
