Quantities

This article explains how to set up and use the Quantities feature to create filters and exports of various quantities from your project's latest model.

Quantities is included in Field Pro.

How to set up Quantities

To activate Quantities, go to:

Settings Field Add features 'Quantities' Activate:

 User rights

When the feature is activated, it is not automatically visible and usable by everyone in your project. It will only be visible to the project and field administrators until you enable it for others.

To enable the feature for other groups in the project, go to

Settings Field 'Groups with access' Add  Select the group to give access to 'Save':

How to use Quantities

The information in the Quantities feature is displayed in the overview.

Go to Field Quantities.

If you have different buildings in your project, you can select them from the menu.

The data is displayed in columns, and is based on the properties in your models, and can be customized to your liking. You can both add and remove columns to make Quantities display exactly the various kinds of information that you want to see.

You can read more about using filters in this article: Search and filters in Field

To customize the visible columns, click the -icon on the right-hand side of the Quantities view and select/deselect the properties you want to see:

You can also add properties to the table by selecting an object in the model viewer (top part of the screen) Expanding the properties with the -icon Add property to table:

Creating filters for Quantities

You can create filters, like the file filters in Box, to save specific views so you can easily return to and find the information you need. For example, if you are working with MEP and want to save a filter for certain installations in the project.

To create a filter, go to

Field Quantities Add filter  Choose a parameter to filter by.

After selecting a parameter to filter by, a menu will automatically show. From this menu you can select which values to add to your filter.

You can also filter by using the displayed BIM Model in the top half of the view.

Select an object in the model Click the properties button Open one of the lists Filter on value:

Save personal or group filters

You can save a filter for later use. The filter will automatically update if changes are made in the model. Group admins can also save filters to their user group, so others can see them.

The filter is saved either in a personal filters folder, or a folder named according to the user group it was saved in.

Exporting data from quantities

The information displayed in the Quantities function can be exported from Dalux as a list in an Excel spreadsheet, making it easy to save, distribute, or use the information elsewhere. When exporting from Quantities, it will export the information currently displayed, which means that filters will affect the export.

To export from Quantities, click on the -icon located on the right side of the Quantities view and click Export:
