How to import and export COBie and Handover

Handover supports the CObie specification, and data from a COBie spreadsheet can be imported and exported with Handover. The data can then be used in other systems that also support COBie.

This allows the import of several different companies, products, maintenance tasks, and assets. It is also possible to export the data from Handover to a COBie spreadsheet.

How to import a COBie spreadsheet to Handover

To import a COBie spreadsheet, go to:

Handover Assets All assets More Import From COBie.

In the next window, click 'Load COBie sheet' and locate the sheet in the file explorer.

It is also from this window, that an example sheet can be downloaded. Here, the sample Excel sheet is uploaded.

The data has to be reviewed and selected before it can be imported into Handover.

The data is divided into tabs. More fields can be set, by using the green drag-and-drop selection box.

Certain fields need to be filled out before they can be imported to Dalux. A warning symbol will show next to the data that needs to be altered before import. Dalux requires work packages and templates to be set for imported assets.

All warnings can be seen by clicking Warnings, in the upper left corner.

At the bottom of the window, a status will show how many companies/products/maintenance tasks/assets will be imported or updated. When ready to import, click the 'Import' button.

When the import is done, a window will show the result of the import. Click the 'Close' button to close the window after the import.
