As an architect or engineer, your drawings and models are important documents that others depend on.
Feedback given outside a shared system can result in missed change requests, acting on old information, or losing track of decisions. Dalux Box connects all communication to your files, making sure every conversation is traceable and nothing changes without you knowing.
Collaborative design works best when everyone takes the time to review each other's work. Sharing feedback early helps the design team improve the model, and having others review your work ensures everyone is involved from the start.
Comments in Dalux Box
You can create comments directly from within a drawing or model.
To create comments on 2D Drawings, open the drawing in Box and click
New comment.
To create comments on BIM models, go to Locations, navigate to the relevant viewpoint in the 3D view, and click
Add comment.
How to use comments
Comments are a helpful way to bring up and address issues with other disciplines. You can add them directly to 2D drawings, PDF documents, and BIM models, or create general coordination notes that ate not tied to a specific document.
Each comment includes a title, description, type, deadline, assignee, and status. Additional fields are available depending on the setup. Use annotations to mark the exact location or element you are referring to, so the assignee knows precisely what to address.
Once assigned, the responsible user group gets a notification and the comment shows up in their inbox. All follow-up happens within the same thread, and the full history remains visible even if responsibility changes.
Best practices for design communication
Comment early
Raise issues as soon as you identify them. Do not wait for problems to escalate.
Check before creating
Comments can be made simultaneously. Before creating a new comment, check whether the issue has already been raised.
Separate distinct issues
Place each issue in its own comment. Do not combine unrelated feedback in a single comment. Reference the exact location or element so the assignee knows precisely what to address.
Keep all communication inside the system
Create comments directly on the drawing, model, or document. When you receive a comment, keep the communication in the same thread. Do not move conversations into emails or standalone messages, and do not action a change without leaving a response. This gives the whole project team a complete, traceable record of every issue and decision.
Other disciplines can raise issues and provide feedback, but you decide what changes in your design and when. This makes Dalux Box a safe environment for open, documented collaboration.
