Step 1: Find and repsond to quality issues

If the construction manager identifies an issue on site that requires your action, they can create a quality issue in Dalux. This follows a structured workflow that ensures the task is sent directly to you as the subcontractor.

Addressing these quality issues early helps to reduce duplicate work later on. A detailed response documents your work and provides proof that you have addressed the issue to avoid any potential claims.

What is a quality issue

A quality issue is a structured task, sent by the construction manager and used to report work that must be corrected.

It is an actionable task with a clear purpose: to get something corrected.

It provides clear expectations, defined responsibility, and full visibility of what needs to be fixed, helping you resolve issues faster and document the completed work.

Where to find quality issues in Dalux Field

As a subcontractor, you mainly handle quality issues using the mobile app, giving you access to project information directly on site without needing a computer.

Your inbox serves as the central hub for incoming quality issues and you should check it regularly.

Opening and reviewing a quality issue

A task is divided into three main sections, each showing specific information:

Task details
The first section shows the task title and metadata, such as floor,  deadline, etc.
Location
The middle section shows the task location: 1 (left) is general, 2 (right) is precise.
Communication
The last section contains all messages between you and the construction manager, and attached images.

Respond to a quality issue

You have two main ways of responding to a quality issue: 'Report ready' or 'Reject'.

Report ready:

Once you have completed the work, mark the task as ready and provide a clear response.

Add a short message describing what you have done, and include a photo of the location to document the correction.

Reject:

If you do not agree that the issue is your responsibility, or the information provided is unclear, you can reject the quality issue with a clear explanation. Only reject the quality issue if:

  • The task is not covered by your contract
  • You did not cause the issue
  • The responsibility clearly lies with another party

Do not use rejection if the issue is unclear or cannot be found on site.
In those cases, use "Report ready" and explain the situation instead, as shown above.

What a good response looks like

A strong reply fulfills the following criteria:

  • Clear and direct
  • Photos are provided as proof of completion
  • Easy for the construction manager to understand
  • Complete enough to avoid follow-up questions
